Privacy policy
We investigate the food industry's data practices. Ours should be able to survive the same treatment.
The short version
We collect the minimum we need to run the site: your email if you subscribe, your messages if you contact us, and label photos if you use the scanner. We never sell your data. We never will.
What we collect
Email address — when you join the newsletter, unlock the scanner, or ask to be notified about Pro. We use it to send what you asked for and nothing else.
Contact details and messages — when you use the contact form: your name, email, and message, so we can reply.
Label photos — when you use the scanner. Photos are used only to decode ingredients for you.
Pro account and payment info — when Pro checkout opens, payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.
Automatic data — like most sites, our hosting records basic technical info (device type, pages visited, approximate location) to keep the site running and secure.
Who else sees it
Two kinds of companies help us operate, and they only get what they need:
- Email platforms — to send the newsletter and manage unsubscribes.
- Payment processors — to handle Pro billing when it opens.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We don't run third-party advertising, so there are no ad trackers building profiles on you here.
Your choices
Unsubscribe anytime with one click in any email. Delete: email hello@consumerrising.com and ask us to delete your data — we'll do it and confirm. Scanner photos: nothing is uploaded until automatic analysis is connected; when it is, you can request deletion of any photo.
Children
ConsumerRise is written for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the newsletter before it takes effect — not buried in fine print after.
